Rewealth Seminars

An exciting day of learning and networking in Washington, DC

for business, investment, government, non-profit, and academic

leaders of community revitalization or natural resource restoration.

See upcoming seminar dates, and register now!

Our 1-day Rewealth Seminars are a quick, enjoyable, and highly effective way to fast-track the growth or revitalization of your company, non-profit, school, community, or region.   Entrepreneurs and investors (institutional and Individual)--as well as community leaders--can also use these seminars to meet each other and do deals. Whether you have a project that needs backers, or you are looking for an ideal project to back, you'll have a chance to present your opportunity at this seminar.

Here are a few of the benefits of attending a Rewealth Seminar:

  • You'll gain a deeper understanding of the trends and principles in Storm Cunningham's two groundbreaking books: The Restoration Economy (2002) and Rewealth! (2008).  Lessons are illustrated with hundreds of powerful before-and-after photos, and revealing, behind-the-scenes stories.  You'll be the first to learn of any updates, activities, or new research related to these subjects.  The fluency you'll gain will help you more effectively champion rewealth strategies and implement rewealth tools within your community or organization, enabling you to become a key facilitator of rapid, resilient renewal.

  • You'll gain advance knowledge of government initiatives, funding sources, new companies, and public-private projects...possibly leading to valuable strategic alliances or business development opportunities.  Each seminar is based on a syllabus that remains largely the same from month-to-month.  However, each is unique in two ways: 1) the attendees in each seminar are different, bringing unique knowledge, resources, and opportunities to the table; 2) we at Resolution Fund are constantly exposed to new rewealth initiatives and opportunities around the globe.  Those that aren't confidential will be offered at each seminar as examples, and contact information will be provided if you perceive a potential opportunity. These personal relationships and "inside information" alone can be worth many times the cost of your seminar. Larger organizations should thus consider sending staff to these seminars on a regular basis individually (rather than as a group) to maximize exposure to fellow attendees.

  • You'll receive a free one-year subscription to Rewealth News, and invitations to our (future) annual conferences.  Rewealth News is a new quarterly (eventually monthly) electronic newsletter that will keep you abreast of the latest restoration and revitalization initiatives and opportunities from around the world. It will also serialize stories and sections from Storm's upcoming books, so you'll gain these insights far in advance in the rest of the world. First issue: January 2009.

    • Anyone will be able to subscribe to the newsletter for just $195, but only our seminar and program graduates can submit stories, reports, resources, and opportunities to this publication. Why? Because we want the resources and opportunities it contains to be offered by individuals and organizations that truly understand the principles and processes of rapid, resilient renewal.  This helps boost the chances of success for any partnerships that might ensue.

    • This subscription will thus help keep you connected with all other Rewealth Seminar attendees, not just those who were in your seminar. Your investment in this training thus becomes more valuable over time, as the network of graduates grows.  Eventually, we will launch annual conferences of Rewealth Seminar and Renewal Capacity Program participants.  These invitation-only International Rewealth Conferences will take place in cities that are (or have been) enrolled in the Renewal Capacity Program, and that offer what we feel are exemplary opportunities for restorative investors, organizations, and businesses.

  • You'll receive a handsome certificate of completion to frame and hang on your wall.   Rapid, resilient renewal is a universal goal: when clients and visitors see that you've obtained special training in rewealth techniques, valuable opportunities can arise from the ensuing conversation.

If you want to enroll your community in our Renewal Capacity Program, but need to become more fluent in the language and techniques of rapid, resilient renewal, a Rewealth Seminar is the solution.

Or, if you want to restore the world for a living as a private investor, an entrepreneur, a researcher,

or a corporate leader, a Rewealth Seminar is your ideal first step.

Seminar Schedule & Syllabus:

07:30 - 08:00: Networking breakfast

08:00 - 09:00: Introductions  If desired, each attendee can have 3-5 minutes (depending on the size of the class) to tell the others about a project or organization that needs resources (money, expertise, employees, etc.), or about resources that are available.

09:00 - 10:00: Illustrated insights & updates: The Restoration Economy

10:00 - 10:15: Break

10:15 - 11:15: Illustrated insights & updates: reWealth!

11:15 - 12:00: Q&A

12:00 - 13:00: Networking lunch

13:00 - 14:30: Secrets of public-private partnering for renewal. How private firms can win more business. 14:30 - 14:45: Break

14:45 - 16:00: Opportunities: New/upcoming resources, tools, & initiatives (funding, software, projects, etc.) This section includes insights into upcoming programs by Resolution Fund and upcoming academic/community/business projects that might present opportunities for you or your organization.

16:00 - 17:00: Networking reception

Location: Resolution Fund headquarters, 3 blocks from the White House and a short walk from the U.S. Capitol.  We're on the 7th floor of the magnificent new Ronald Reagan Building/International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. [Note: this is a secured building, and a photo I.D. is necessary at all entrances.]  The Federal Triangle Metro (subway) station is directly below the building (Orange and Blue lines).

Housing: Since our Washington DC seminars take place in the Reagan Building/International Trade Center (3 blocks from the White House), there is no "headquarters hotel".  You are thus free to choose any accommodation you desire.  Here are some of your best hotel options in the immediate area:

  • High end (over $300):

    • The J.W. Marriott Hotel at 1331 Pennsylvania Ave. is directly across from our office.

    • The Willard (Intercontinental) at 1401 Pennsylvania Ave. is a historic (and expensive) luxury hotel.

    • The Hotel Monaco at 700 F St. is a lovely new luxury hotel in a restored historic Post Office building, 6 blocks from our office in the recently-revitalized Gallery Place-Chinatown neighborhood.

  • Mid-range (over $200):

  • Low end ($80 - $150):

    • The Hotel Harrington at 436 11th St. is an older hotel in need of renovation, but it's clean and 2 blocks from our office.

    • The Comfort Inn at 1201 13th St. is 8 blocks straight up 13th Street from our office, so it's further, but easy to find.

  • Attendees from tribes and lesser-developed nations who are taking advantage of our pro bono tuition offer--and who thus have an extremely limited travel budget--might use the Washington DC Hostel at 1009 11th St. (9 blocks from our office).

Travel: Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) is closest, accessible by Metro (subway) or taxi.   Washington Dulles (IAD) and the Baltimore-Washington (BWI) are primarily for international connections (both approximately $50 by taxi).  Union Station is a short taxi or MetroRail ride from our office, if you wish to use Amtrak.

Rewealth Seminars always take place on a Monday.  This allows you to arrive over the weekend and enjoy the sights before buckling down to an intense (but fun!) day of learning and networking. This schedule also allows the optional one-on-one 90-minute consulting sessions with Storm to take place on the Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays following the seminar (see below).

Tuition: $995 per person.

  • Registering 4 or more people at one time earns a 25% discount: for every 3 you pay for, you get 1 free.

    • If you plan to register 4 or more people, please write down this code now: 4for3 (no spaces, no caps).  On the registration form, you'll need to type that into the box that asks you if you have a promotional code. Otherwise, you won't get the 25% discount.

    • You don't need to register in multiples of 4: you'll get a 25% discount on your total registration whether your quantity is 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8.  There's a maximum of 8: we don't want a seminar to be too heavily populated by one organization.

  • 50% Tuition for students, faculty, & small non-profits.  We offer a limited number of seats at half-price to full-time students, faculty, and the staff of small non-profits (annual budget under $250,000).   Please email us information about you and your school/organization, and we will send you a one-time-use discount code to use in the online registration form if you qualify.

  • Pro bono Tuition: We offer unsold seats free of charge to tribes, communities, or organizations from lesser-developed nations if they literally cannot afford to pay any tuition.  Contact us by email to apply for our "Gratis Wait List."  Notification emails for 50% or Gratis registration opportunities go out 8 weeks prior to seminars.

Optional one-on-one consulting: Twelve 90-minute one-on-one consulting sessions with Storm Cunningham are available during the 3 days following each Rewealth Seminar (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays).  Fee: $600 each.  See the online registration form for availability.  With up to 48 people per seminar, but only 12 consultation slots, you should register well ahead of time if you desire this optional service.

  • You can use these 90-minute one-on-one sessions in almost any way you wish...run business plans/strategies past Storm for his input...tell him about a project that is seeking the kind of investor Storm might know...describe a restorative research project that needs partners or sponsors...tell Storm your ideal retirement lifestyle dream so that he might help you find a rewealth opportunity in your idea of paradise.

  • Note: if you will be staying for several days after the Rewealth Seminar for other business or pleasure activities, it would be a great courtesy if you would choose a Wednesday or Thursday time slot for your Consult.  That way, those who need to return home as soon as possible can use the Tuesday time slots. Thank you for your consideration!

Size and makeup of classes: Seminar sizes vary with the season, but will never exceed 48 registrants.

We have six meeting rooms of varied sizes available to us, ranging from three conference rooms in our office to the magnificent Rotunda on top of the Reagan Building.  [Sorry: to avoid last-minute shuffling, we can't tell you the size of the group prior to your arrival.]  Smaller seminars have the advantage of greater personal attention per student from the instructor. Larger groups have the advantage of greater networking opportunities with other students.

Your fellow attendees will likely come from all over the globe, so these seminars can be good networking opportunities for those seeking international opportunities or resources.  We purposely mix the public and private sectors, so those seeking and offering resources and business/investment opportunities might find them among their fellow students.  Classes will typically include investors (individual and institutional), entrepreneurs, mayors/community leaders, as well as executives from major corporations, economic development groups, planning/design firms, professionals/consultants, and government economic/environmental/social agencies at all levels.

Lunch/Reception Sponsorships: If your organization would like to pick up the tab for the seminar lunch, you can have 5 minutes to address the group and pass out your materials.  If you'd like to pick up the bar / hors d'oeuvre tab, you can join the group for the one-hour informal networking reception at the end of the day (again, with 5 minutes to address the group and offer materials).  We reserve the right to refuse lunch/reception sponsorship opportunities if we deem the products or services offered to be inappropriate or not of interest to seminar attendees.

The cost of these sponsorships varies with the size of the group, of course, but we can tell you the cost per attendee in advance. Sponsorship opportunities are limited to organizations whose leaders have attended a Rewealth Seminar, as we wish to to ensure that you understand the goals and interests of our attendees. Email us if you'd like to learn more.

Language:   All seminars are presently conducted in English.  Sorry: due to the intimate size of the seminars (maximum 48), simultaneous interpretation services are not cost-effective. [Note: we are looking to partner with a small number of organizations that can offer Rewealth Seminars and the Renewal Capacity Program in other major languages in their parts of the world. Email us if you'd like to learn more.]

Our very first Rewealth Seminar will take place October 6, 2008.

To kick-off the series in grand style, a surprise guest lecturer will join us for lunch.

There will also be a special "thank-you" to our first attendees following the seminar.

This will be an event you'll always remember:

for the fun you'll have, for the techniques you'll learn, and for the contacts you'll make.
